Trout Forest Music Festival
Trout… as always, my favorite weekend of the summer. Once again, there will be artists from a variety of genres and from all over the country coming together to spend a weekend making magic in the woods at Ear Falls. Joining us in August will be artists from across Canada that are equally at home at any large festival in the country … but instead of battling the tens of thousands, we get to have them in the intimate Trout environment. Friday’s kickoff in Frank’s Tavern will be a fantastic mini-festival itself and a sampling of what’s to come over the weekend. Jam around the midnight campfire and spend Saturday and Sunday wandering back and forth between workshops and concerts at the three stages, stopping for a cool dip or beverage in between. The ‘family’ stage will continue to be a mixture of family entertainment and ‘open mic’ performances, so stop by with your instrument and show us what you got. You can also sign up for the hands-on instructional workshop and learn from some seasoned festival performers. Don’t forget to visit the many food and artisan booths. Remember… we’re not big, but we’re small… and you’re all good people. Relax, have a swim and enjoy the finest of Canadian music in the finest of Canadian places.
